My goal is to determine whether the university has a duty to make research knowledge available to members of society outside the institution. If so, I ask the question of responsibility: who should then ensure this dissemination? I consider the epistemic and political issues raised by the educational differences between academic experts and the "general public" in the dissemination of research. I examine the case of research in the humanities and social sciences.

Supervisor: Mathilde Cambron-Goulet (FSE, d'éducation et de pédagogie)
