My master's thesis analyzes the philosophy of political murder as deployed in Sartre's dramatic and philosophical corpus. The aim of this study is not so much to pledge the morality of violent practices as to understand the way in which they impose themselves on the praxis of the individuals and groups who resort to them. By confronting this perspective with its critique and comparison with other forms of thought, this work aims to examine the extent to which this philosophy of political murder can serve to demystify this type of act in contemporary societies. These considerations of murder imply a more general interest in questions of ethical and moral philosophy, and bioethics, in which the meaning and value of the taboo of killing are at stake.
