By highlighting women thinkers such as Gabrielle Suchon and Mary Astell, this project aims to rehabilitate their role in shaping fundamental notions often attributed solely to their male counterparts. My work explores how their critiques of the gender hierarchy in marriage have informed reflections on equality and citizenship, helping to enrich and diversify our understanding of modern political thought.
