By situating relationships of trust between institutions, groups and individuals within the broader context of social injustice, I argue that it is incumbent on healthcare institutions to demonstrate that they are trustworthy, rather than accusing marginalized and oppressed people who refuse to place their trust in them of bad faith or incivility.
